Webcam not listed in lsusb or lspci

Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5630 laptop with an integrated webcam. I'm pretty sure I had it working some years ago with linux mint. From what I read on the internet it's a Logitech Orbicam - the problem is it's not listed in lsusb or lspci, and this really puzzles me.

So, supposing it's not a hardware problem, what could it be? Maybe something to do with kernel configuration? I'm lost, so any help or hints or appreciated

cheers

It should show up on lsusb regardless of driver support, I'd say it is an hardware problem but to be sure try with a livecd of another distro that ships an older kernel, if you can find a livecd of that linux mint that used to work then even better.
