Re: [SOLVED] lxappearance issue

Which DE or WM are you using? What themes are you trying to switch to?

Re: [SOLVED] lxappearance issue

Those are GTK3 themes, I'm not sure if lxde uses gtk3, but I think you should try with gtk2 themes.

Re: [SOLVED] lxappearance issue

LXDE uses GTK2, but hope soon it can be 'ported' GTK3 (btw. some programs are already able to compile with GTK3). You can have nice Adwaita look (see my screens: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 7#p993237). In fact much more better for GTK2 is Aldabra theme (from AUR). But lxappearance seems to be screwed. So - to set properly GTK2 theme use lxappearance than set it again with eg. gtk-chtheme. To have the theme compatibile with qt programs: add to ~/.gtkrc-2.0 the line with: gtk-theme-name="Aldabra" and create file /etc/profile.d/gtk2.sh with: export GTK2_RC_FILES="$HOME/.gtkrc-2.0"

Re: [SOLVED] lxappearance issue

Having all the packages end theme engines installed, lxappearance should be able to manage the themes (halfways anyway). For me it creates a gtk3 folder in your home-directory that you need to move to your ~/.config. Then you need to edit the file ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini and remove all include lines (and perhaps some more depending what you see if you launch the gtk3 application from a terminal). Also you need to remove all "" around the themes else they are not recognized.

That is:  gtk-icon-theme-name="Faenza-Cupertino" is wrong and gtk-icon-theme-name=Faenza-Cupertino is correct.
