Cannot start openoffice.

This is the error after running "soffice" alone. I'm confused. Help is appreciated.

/usr/lib/openoffice/program/soffice.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.44: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Re: Cannot start openoffice.

libicuuc.so is provided by 'icu' package - do you have it installed?

Does it work if you run e.g.

/usr/bin/soffice --writer

?

Re: Cannot start openoffice.

Do you use openoffice or libreoffice? "icu>=4.6" is a dependency of libreoffice-common so in that case you should already have it.

Re: Cannot start openoffice.

By installing a newer version of icu. The issue was fixed.
