Hello everybody,
I was using compiz 0.8 with compiz-decorator-gtk-no-gnome and I had no problem.
But when I installed compiz-dev from AUR, which have its own gtk window decorator included, two problems appeared:
1. Gtk themes are not fully applied: the colors changes but the rest of the theme is not shown as it should. [SOLVED]
2. I´m not able to change the windows decorations:
- I used to configure gconf with gconftool-2 --set /apps/metacity/general/theme --type string "Theme" but now it doesn't work
Anybody knows what could be happening?
Thanks for your help
(Sorry for my poor English)

I'd be more interested in seeing if your gtk-engines got messed up somehow. Try reinstalling the gtk-engines that you use.

One of the problems is solved! the ugly look was caused by the lack of murrine engine, my fault. Thanks for your help.
In the other hand I'm still trying to change window decorations, but I had no luck through gconf configuration... any idea?
Here is my list of compiz packages installed, if it helps:
local/ccsm-dev 0.9.5.0-1

How did you end up changing themes for the gtk window decorator?

How did you end up changing themes for the gtk window decorator?
I haven´t found any solution yet, I tried with GIT version in AUR but changing values in gconf has no effect on decorator themes.

Gconf / Apps /Metacity / General / theme worked for me.

With compiz 0.9.5? Could you tell me how have you installed compiz? You installed gtk window decorator separately or something like that?
Thank you, bye

Yeah, I installed and configured gtk-window-decorator as described at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … -decorator and used gconf-editor to set my preferred theme.

I'm sorry but I don't get how did you do. I can't install the package from pacman because it has a conflict with compiz-core-git (compiz 0.9.5 has a gtk window decorator included). I tried to install the package compiz-decorator-gtk-no-gnome from AUR with the same result.

I would suggest removing compiz-core-git and other compiz related packages and start from scratch as described in the wiki. That's all I did and it worked for me, the only part that is not described there is using gconf-editor to choose the gtk window decorator theme.

in compiz 0.9.5 that way doesn't work, because gtk-window-decorator included in this version of compiz doesn't depend on metacity, I tried many things but I also don't know how to change the gtk-window-decorator border theme
