GPT partition types & filesystems (/var /boot) for SSD

Hi. I'm using a 128 GB SSD on a semi old laptop, but with 2 GB RAM. Now preparing to install I'm using RescueCD to use GPT on the drive.

First what I would like to know is if "Linux/Windows Data" partition type (used in the SSD wiki) is the best to use? I'm not installing windows on this laptop so perhaps "Linux Filesystem" is better? What would be used for /boot?
Secondly the wiki mentions that RaiserFS filesystem is a good choice for the /var partition but is this true if placed on a SSD? I imagine you can't mount the partition with the discard option (TRIM). And again whats best for /boot?

More as an afterthought I'd like some input on the partition scheme. I'm skipping swap and /tmp will run the RAM. I have not decided if I should make a /boot partition as well. Could be useful if I install more distros perhaps?

/boot with ext2/ext4 w/o journaling/ext4 (150 MB)
root (/) with ext4 (25 GB)
/var with raiserfs/ext4 (15 GB)
/home with ext4 (rest of the space)

Thanks.
