[Solved] Need to disable/reenable HDD while system is up

Is there a command I can use to disable an (idle) HDD, like in Windows Device Manager where I can right-click -> disable?  I need other devices on the same bus to be unaffected, and I need to be able to reenable it on-the-fly as well.

Edit: Found a file called state in /sys/devices/pci0000:00/.../x:x:x:x/ with contents 'running' which I changed to 'offline'.  Seems to have done the trick, although I haven't tried to bring it back up yet.

But whether the Constitution really be one thing, or another, this much is certain - that it has either authorized such a government as we have had, or has been powerless to prevent it. In either case, it is unfit to exist.
