tp_smapi not working

for my thinkpad edge series laptop i installed tp_smapi and tlp.
But i am not able to configure battery charging.
I cannot find a file like /sys/devices/platform/smapi or does it need to be created manually.
Also while loading modules on starting the OS following message was shown
[   22.320873] thinkpad_ec: thinkpad_ec_read_row: failed requesting row: (0x01:0x00)->0xfffffff0
[   22.320877] thinkpad_ec: initial ec test failed

output of dmidecode is as:

$ sudo dmidecode -t 11
# dmidecode 2.11
SMBIOS 2.6 present.

It donot mention anything about thinkpad_ec version
I updated the bios before installing arch linux.
Give me a solution to overcome these problems..

tp_smapi is not supported on the EDGE or on some of the newer TP as well. For some more information https://github.com/evgeni/tp_smapi/issues/2
