Hi, I installed archlinux on this laptop, also alsa-utils and there is no sound. I unmuted it in alsamixer. What can be wrong?
Maybe problem because some ibm buttons dont work and I cant install them because package thinkpad cant be installed.

Your thinkpad buttons should be supported by tpb, so I don't think that issue is related. Is snd-intel8x0 being loaded by your kernel?

If those buttons don't work, your laptop is broken. Those are real hardware controls for an internal amplifier, they don't need any interaction with the OS to work.

Sound works randomly. It is not hardware button problem, because when the sound is not working and I start alsaconf in terminal and chose intel card it starts to work.
This is in /etc/modules.conf:

# --- ALSACONF version 1.0.24.2 ---
alias char-major-116 snd
alias char-major-14 snd

It works randomly after reboot. Sometimes it works after start system, sometimes. And if not I must run alsaconf in terminal and then it works.
