Re: Problem with Voximp

You need to tell it to use python2.

change the top line from

/usr/bin/env python

to

/usr/bin/env python2

Added a comment to AUR and flagged as out of date. Hmm maybe not out of date, just not quite working. meh.

Re: Problem with Voximp

How did you install voximp. In the tarball from AUR there's a file called voximp.install which has the following in it.

==> Copy all the files in /usr/share/voximp/sample_configs to ~/.config/voximp
==> Rename ~/.config/voximp/voximpconf.py.sample to ~/.config/voximp/voximpconf.py
==> Edit the config file if you want, but remember, if you edit, you have to re-create language model.
====> Insturctions for this can be found in the config file itself.
==> Also, remember, the more commands you have, the less accurate it'll be.

Did you do as it said?  You need to copy the files to the proper folder. Voximp is calling voximpconf.py which should be in /home/$USER/.config/voximp

If you want to change the commands which voximp listens for then you need to modify voximpconf.py

Here's a small guide.

Re: Problem with Voximp

Just follow those instructions literally. These are actions which must be done on a per-user basis thus reinstall won't help.

I.e. copy the file and then edit it. And do not forget to keep a backup of your config file every time before you edit it. So you can go back in case something went wrong.

To know or not to know ...
... the questions remain forever.

It is running right? Now I can't test it.

Aegidius, please enclose this list in [ code ] tags instead of [ quote ]. This will cause it being displayed in a scrollable window.

BTW you may find the available tags when you follow the "BBCode" link below the edit window.

Re: Problem with Voximp

Looks like it's working, have you tried giving(speaking) a couple commands. You might have to adjust the microphone volume in alsamixer.

Autostarting a program depends on your WM/DE. Always check the wiki first.

Re: Problem with Voximp

Aegidius did you finally get it work?

I am getting the same output as you but seems not work, and there is nothing in the web about it..
