I use mpd which is a very light music player. It doesn't come with a lot of features. It didn't have a feature to organize my music library like Songbird used to do, or iTunes does on windows.
So, I wrote a script that does that. -> Usage blog post
Meanwhile, if someone uses mpd and wants to have a script that deletes or loves a current playing song. Relevant blog post.
Works on windows too.
