Customizing Boot Process

Is there any way to change the boot process text to green and add a background image?  I managed to install grub 2 and configure that to look nice, but when it gets to the boot process the look dramatically changes.

Would Splashy been of any help to me?

What exactly happens? "hen it gets to the boot process the look dramatically changes" is not very helpful.
Maybe it's the KMS activation - do fonts get smaller when you boot?

Re: Customizing Boot Process

grub2 backgrounds only affect grub2, so naturally it disappears once grub hands over to the system init.

If you want a background image on your console, you need a kernel with the fbcondecor patch - there's a package in the AUR for that. Not sure if it handles text colour as well.

GRUB2 is customized with a back-round and different colored text.  When it switches to the Arch Linux boot process the back-round obviously goes away and becomes a black screen with white text flying down it. (Standard boot)  This looks very clumsy.

Is there any way to keep the back round consistent through the whole boot process, and perhaps make the text green instead of white?

Re: Customizing Boot Process

I think you can customize the color of the test (see /etc/rc.d/functions), but usually you just cover it with a splash screen e.g. https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Splashy
