wifi not working after update to 3.0.6-2

just a heads up guys, after updating to kernel 3.0.6-2 my atheros 5k card started showing as ath0 (previously shown as wlan0) but it could'nt scan or anything, after some messing around i discovered that ath_pci was autoloaded instead of ath5k at boot which created the conflict, so there you go.

if anyone else is having the same trouble just blacklist the modules that are specified in the wireless-setup section of the wiki.

also, this is my first post i hope i can help people in the future posting here.
on a side note if anyone could point me in the direction of what does the auto loading of modules (evdev? udev?) i would like to know what does this auto-loading of the modules, because i remember some time back you had to specify exactly what you wanted to load on boot.

You have the option to chose which modules to load exactly or to use autoloading. You can find the settings in /etc/rc.conf - it's pretty straightforward.

If you want to go further, you can specify your modules in mkinitcpio. Both are described in the wiki.
