Evolution font color does not get inverted in dark theme

Dear Archers,

I changed the gnome 3.2 Adwaita theme for gtk-2.0 and gtk-3.0 applications according to this thread

Specifically, I added this line to ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini

gtk-application-prefer-dark-theme = true

and changed this line in /usr/share/themes/gtk-2.0/Adwaita/gtkrc according to misc's last post

gtk-color-scheme = "base_color:#4F524F\nfg_color:#eeeeec\ntooltip_fg_color:#eeeeee\nselected_bg_color:#3465a4\nselected_fg_color:#eeeeec\ntext_color:#EEEEEC\nbg_color:#363B3B\ntooltip_bg_color:#000000"

Now back to my actual question: In evolution the mail listing and the mail contents are in a black font which is very hard to read obviously. I did not find any hints on how to change these fonts. Since evolution is a key gnome app I expected the theme change to be as smooth as with the other apps (rhythmbox, nautilus etc.)

edit: I meant the gtkrc in /usr/share/themes/Adwaita/gtk-2.0
