[Solved] Smplayer GUI appears black

This problem is very strange in that it doesn't seem to affect video playback at all... I'm using smplayer inb dwm and the smplayer window appears to be black. All of the icons appear correctly and the text (rendered in white) is readable but I can't seem to get it to look the way it did on other systems. The main difference that I can think of between this system and others is that I'm using intel graphics drivers--but that shouldn't matter because all of my other guis appear fine (pidgin, firefox, etc). A few quick tries to change this in qtconfig didn't work. Has this happened to anyone else?

It turns out that the color settings in ~/.Xresources was affecting my applications. I had to replace * with URxvt* to ensure that the configuration only applied to terminal. Changing ~/.Xresources and setting the qtconfig theme to Default fixed the problem.
