Ati Catalyst, Black screen at runlevel 5.

Hello All

I am having a problem with the Ati Catalyst Drivers.
As many may know they are not up to date with Xorg at the moment.

The open ati drivers do there job "kindoff" kde performance is realy laggy, and when i turn of composit my windows act glitchy.

so i tryed installing the drivers by downgrading Xorg.

i added to my pacman.conf

[xorg110]
Server = http://catalyst.apocalypsus.net/repo/xorg110/$arch

[catalyst]
Server = http://catalyst.apocalypsus.net/repo/catalyst/$arch

Then downgrading Xorg to:

X.Org X Server 1.10.4
Release Date: 2011-08-19
X Protocol Version 11, Revision 0
Build Operating System: Linux 3.0-ARCH i686
Current Operating System: Linux Khaos 3.0-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Oct 7 10:11:05 UTC 2011 i686

Then installing the catalyst drivers and running

aticonfig --initial

Made a "modprobe fglrx" to make sure the module was available to me.
Module loaded with no problems

I also tried only downgrading xorg and building the catalyst-total package from AUR but with the same result.

If you guys need any more information please let me know.

Ps. My graphics card is 02:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Cedar PRO [Radeon HD 5450]
