Static in audio with vlc-1.1.12-1-x86_64

After upgrading vlc (to vlc-1.1.12-1-x86_64), any video I play has static that sounds like a loose audio cable.  Downgrading to vlc-1.1.11-5-x86_64 fixes the problem.

Just to be sure, I updated again (same problem) and downgraded again (no more static).

Anyone else have this issue?

I'm having the same problem with vlc (1.1.12-1-x86_64). Downgrading fixes the problem. Also all other video-players are doing fine.
Installing vlc-git doesn't solve the problem either.
I'm using PulseAudio.

Re: Static in audio with vlc-1.1.12-1-x86_64

So I see this bug was filed about this.

I found that with vlc on my IgnorePkg list, it was no longer able to play most videos (e.g. h264) when ffmpeg and x264 were updated.  So I updated vlc to 1.1.12-3 to see if it was still a problem.  Nope, no crackling anymore.  So I downgraded to vlc-1.1.12-1, ffmpeg-20111003-1 and x264-20111001-1... still sounds fine.

In short: I can no longer reproduce the problem.  Wish I could say what resolved it for me.
