Netcfg does not work with TLP running on Thinkpad X201

I am trying to set up TLP [1] on my system. However, if TLP is running, I cannot establish a connection to my wireless LAN (Authentication failed). Running on AC and using TLPs standard settings, there are two scenarios:
+ I start my system without TLP, activate my wireless connection. Next I deactivate my wireless connection, start TLP as a daemon, and try to reactivate my wireless: my wireless won't authenticate.
+ I start my system with TLP as a daemon: my wireless won't authenticate off the bat.

In both cases it does not help to stop the TLP daemon - I have to do a reboot of the machine.

Any ideas?
