boned raid/xfs combo

Hey so i have a probably huge problem i have a computer with a raid 6 consisting of 5 2tb harddrives raided using mdadm and then made into 1 large partition using xfs and 1 separate hdd running as the operating system disk
The problem is that yesterday the old mobo died i got a new one but the os wouldnt boot i did a reinstall of it (probably my first misstake) without backing it up and suprise suprise the raid wouldnt start up after going through numerous guides on the internet
the only one that i found that i had any "success" with told me to just create the raid array again which i did i then checked with gdisk if the gpt was still there it claimed it was not so i made a new one and then formated the drive with xfs again the partition was ofc empty (cuz im stupid)
so currently im running testdisk on it to see if i can in any way recover the old partition so does anyone have any tips or for that matter just want tell me what an idiot i am

tl:dr stuff broke need to recover a xfs partition that has been overwritten by another xfs partition
