[SOLVED]How to stop emacs from creating a #filename#

When I want to quit without saving it, it leaves a #filename# behind, annoying...

I think, putting '(setq backup-inhibited t)' into your startup file does the trick.

Sorry. 'backup-inhibited' is for backup files terminating with '~'.
For what you want, a quick search points me to 'auto-save-mode' which, it seems, has to be toggled for every buffer you don't want to have those files created.
