No sound other than directly from built-in mic.

Hello there!

I've got a problem... I'm using Arch with GNOME 3 and I have a weird problem. My sound is gone. alsamixer doesn't affect the sound at all and Gnome's volume manager (or whatever it's called) doesnt have any sound output (only Dummy - or something similiar, I'm translating from polish interface). But I hear my mic (very loud). I don't even know where to start diagnosing this problem and would be very, very grateful If you'd help me or just point me out the right direction.

Cheers!

Re: No sound other than directly from built-in mic.

Go to AlsaMixer and press F6 and select your sound card and then unmute the Master channels. Works here.

Re: No sound other than directly from built-in mic.

Alsamixer at HDA Intel said, that there are no controls for this device. And as I've mentioned before... everything used to work, and it was possible to 'tune' levels in alsamixer.

It turned out, that I've got a second laptop (both Toshiba Satellite) which has the same problem. Sound used to work, but now it's gone. Even alsaconf said, there are no sound cards in there. I've found a similiar (quite) problem in here:

But nothing helped.

Here are my results:
