XFCE Keyboard Layout applet not working after latest xorg update...

Is this a bug in the xorg update or most the kbd layout be recompiled or? I am not able to swtich between my two kbd layouts anymore.. Downgrading the org packages made it work again but I guess that's not a long term solution...

What's strange is that I don't have this problem on my home PC (a workstation) but only on my Thinkpad laptop...
