Re: Fedora merging /usr/bin with /sbin and /bin

So the gist is that it'd be easy to do with a script, but difficult to "package" and distribute through pacman?

No...  the gist is that if you change your filesystem layout and the arch packages are not designed for that, then you could end up with a broken system.

Re: Fedora merging /usr/bin with /sbin and /bin

Just saying:

$ uname -s ; oslevel
AIX
5.3.0.0
$  ll -d /bin
lrwxrwxrwx    1 bin      bin               8 Nov 25 2010  /bin -> /usr/bin
$  ll -d /lib
lrwxrwxrwx    1 bin      bin               8 Nov 25 2010  /lib -> /usr/lib

$ uname -rs
HP-UX B.11.11
$ ll -d /bin
lr-xr-xr-t   1 root       sys              8 Jan 18 13:33 /bin -> /usr/bin
$ ll -d /lib
lr-xr-xr-t   1 root       sys              8 Jan 18 13:33 /lib -> /usr/lib

Although /sbin is a different story altogether!
