I have openjdk6 and icedtea-web packages installed. Java applets just showing up as a grey box though. No idea why. Some ask for security permissions to run (http://www.minecraft.net/classic/play) but they still don't do anything.
What might I be missing? I've tried both Firefox and Chromium (my usual browser) with the same results.
I now have applets working, but they don't seem to capture my mouse properly.
Again, using the minecraft example above. Whenever I click the applet acts as if I hit escape. It doesn't provide the game function of the click, but acts as if I hit escape and clicked on a button in the middle of the menu. This happens in Chromium, Firefox, and under LXDE as well as Gnome, so I know it's not an environmental issue, but probably a Java specific one. It doesn't seem to capture the mouse clicks properly.
Any ideas?

I have to use jre6 from the AUR to get that stuff to work. It will install the plugin as well.

Well, that worked for me. Mostly. Now I have a different problem. Will edit the OP with that and the title to reflect.
