Disable Lid Suspend on Shutdown

Hi,

I have my laptop setup to suspend when I close the lid, but the trouble is that the machine suspends if I close the lid while it's still shutting down. Is there a standard way I can disable suspend while the machine is shutting down? The only way I can think of doing this would be to move the lid event handler script in rc.local.shutdown and rc.local which doesn't seem like a great solution.

I think I've achieved this by stopping acpid in rc.local.shutdown.
