I did alsaconf but that doesn't solved the problem. Sound is working but no Master Front channel.

If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put foundations under them.

Maybe try
alsactl -f /var/lib/alsa/asound.state restore

Hi. I am facing the very same issue on laptop with Intel HDA / VT1708s. asound.state restore didn't help.

Forgive my ignorance, but why is this an issue?
( I am in the same situation here. )

Maybe it's not but if something disappears i always treat it as issue

In my case it is problem as the master front channel was controlling the internal speakers - so now I have no sound unless I have headphones or external speaker plugged-in.
Apparently sound in kernel 3.1 is a mess - this forum is flooded with threads on broken sound after yesterday's update. I can be happy that I have at least the line-out working. Some people have no sound at all..

Try to control "speaker channel" for controlling internal speakers.

I tried Speaker. No results.
UPDATE: I found out, that the issue does not happen in GNOME (I am using KDE) - and switching the phonon backed to gstreamer in KDE fixed it.
