Bluez install from source - issues with dbus registering.

Hi guys,

So I grabbed a fresh copy of bluez from the kernel.org git repo, built and installed it. I restarted dbus and since there was no /ect/rc.d/bluetooth script I just ran the bluetoothd daemon from /usr/sbin. I am able to use the hci tool and bring my Bluetooth dongle up. When I try to run the simple-agent python script (bluez-simple-agent tool from the arch bluez package) I get an error:

dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.bluez was not provided by any .service files

I assume this means that it is not registering with dbus so perhaps just a config file in the wrong location or does starting the stack require more than ./bluetoothd?

I have configuration files located at: /usr/etc/bluetooth and /usr/etc/dbus-1/system.d perhaps these need to be elsewhere?

Any help would be much appreciated.
