efi framebuffer is broken for nvidia

i tried whichever distro. when you try to boot from efi the kernel loads a efifb which is broken in nvidia. you can see the boot messages rolling down the screen and just before prompt it gets scrambled video. is there a lower text mode that i can use for efi? the standard vga=normal doesnt work for efi
