Very often when using one of my USB 3 ports, I get messages like this:
[145617.662646] xhci_hcd 0000:02:00.0: WARN: Stalled endpoint
[145617.664684] xhci_hcd 0000:02:00.0: WARN: Stalled endpoint
[145617.666584] xhci_hcd 0000:02:00.0: WARN: Stalled endpoint
[145627.662339] xhci_hcd 0000:02:00.0: xHCI host not responding to stop endpoint command.
[145627.662350] xhci_hcd 0000:02:00.0: Assuming host is dying, halting host.
[145627.670621] xhci_hcd 0000:02:00.0: HC died; cleaning up
After this, the USB 3 ports are completely dead and the only way to get them working again is to reboot. I have never had an issue with USB 2 ports. Also, this happens for both USB 2 and USB 3 devices in USB 3 ports. I'm assuming this is a kernel or driver bug as it is most definitely not device related. It has crashed both with an external hard drive, ruining the partition in the process, and with a USB to serial converter (FTDI based). Basically, the two USB ports on my computer are unusable as long as this problem persists.
Any ideas, or should I be submitting this as a bug against the USB 3 driver?
