Having problems with pacman

Alright so I havent really touched my arch partition in almost a year and I just went to do an update through pacman. After it finished I tried using yaourt and that wouldnt work so i tried pacman too and same error "pacman: error while loading shared libraries: liblzma.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
Id prefer not to start over with arch...any ideas?

Did you do?

# pacman -Syyu

You would also have a few system configuration files to manually update.

Due to the volume of updates and major upstream changes (kernel v3 for example) over this year, it may be necessary to re-install.
There are updated isos created 2011.08.19 which address update issues.
