Wow, great wallpaper. Thanks for sharing.

Re: December 2011 Screenshots

I just got back into linux again after a 3 year break.  I remember really digging Arch until that computer died so I thought I'd try my hand at it again.  Anyhow, I'm still in the process of setting up a VM and my desktop.  Currently my desktop doesn't have a monitor but I'm hoping most of the software config files I'm creating on the VM will carry over without a lot of hassle.

Anyhow, here's my screenshot

Clean: (well, mostly)
tYmx2cg

Dirty:
tYmx2dA

I'm still building, please be kind.

edit to fix links.

Wow, your font is beautiful! Do you have a write up of how you got it to look like that? Or are all of your font related configs available somewhere?

Maybe it's just the font I'm using, but no matter what I do I can't get it to render solid colors.

Im using Terminus for the terminal and Sans for pretty much everything else. I dont think I have done anything special. smile

If you're referring to the fourth tag (icon) at the top-left, that is character 0x00A9 in the Tamsynmod font.

Welcome back to Linux and don't worry, these screenshot threads are like fashion parades, not beauty contests. wink

What WM is that?  Seems like Awesome, but your windows have title bars so it's probably i3.

The wallpaper I took in June this year on the canal towpath of two little ducks (aka 22). Their mother was surprisingly calm. Widgets are CWP and now Rockin

Getting a 403, sadly. I really wanna see this one!

Weird, I'll switch to ompldr

It's i3... I've read good things..  I'm not particularly set on it, but I wanted something lightweight for the VM and I need something lightweight for the desktop... she's old.

Thanks for the re-welcoming.  When the old laptop bit the dust it was replaced with a second hand Macbook.  Still using the MB but it was kind of nice for a little bit to not have to fiddle with stuff.  Now I'm in school and taking programming and server support classes and I'm back in the CLI and loving it.

ratpoison:
Clean | Dirty

The change is not official... xmonad remains the "official" window manager, though, as I currently start ratpoison with an xinitrc file other than ~/.xinitrc...

The font is a personal mod of Smooth from Misc. foundry. I will make it available for download on my blog tonight. I couldn't do it last night.

Google has informed me it's by a freelance photographer, his name is Elliott Erwitt. It was taken in the USA. New Jersey, 1966, Bell Lab. ( I checked two other sources, and it seems to be correct. )
