Having successfully installed Arch on one of my laptops, I've decided to install on the other, but have run into a problem - I am unable to resolve web addresses, which makes using pacman a little problematic.
I *can* ping if I use the IPv4 numeric address and, searching for this, I found https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=131338 which suggested making sure that IPv6 is switched off, but it makes no difference.
lspci shows the network card as a Marvell Technology Group 88E8040 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller, if that's of any help.
Any ideas?
Many thanks, in advance,
David Shaw

Using DHCP?
If not, make sure your resolv.conf is up to snuff.
(I assume you are, since it's a laptop, but I figure it never hurts to ask the obvious.)

Could you show your /etc/resolv.conf?
