Calibrate color for laptop monitor

The wiki using LPROF to profile monitors excludes LCD monitors.

Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction to calibrate the colors for my laptop?

I've been looking around, but I can't seem to find any information on laptop monitor calibration in Arch linux.
I was editing some photos the other day and they seemed fine, but when I looked at them on another computer, they were extremely saturated.

Thank you!

Re: Calibrate color for laptop monitor

A good series of disks for video calibration is posted here:

...and there are others. These are for video, but the patterns and files on the disks are very useful for all kinds of calibration. If you don't feel like dropping money on a colorimeter...or building an HFCR on your own (a project I have yet to begin), the patterns are still worth using even if you only calibrate by eyeball.

Re: Calibrate color for laptop monitor

At work we have an X-Rite Colormunki Display, which is supported by Argyll CMS (sees it as an X-Rite i1).

I used it with DispcalGUI, which is simply a front-end for Argyll CMS.  I'm very satisfied with the results, although there is an adjustment period you have to get used to.

I think it costs around $170 or so.  A lot less than most hardware calibration tools.
