Swap motherboard, loose RAID or anything else ?

Hello everyone.

Is it possible to swap a motherboard from one to another and then expect it to boot without any errors?

It's standard kernel.

Most importantly I have two 500GB harddrives set up in RAID1 and it would be a headache if they suddenly stopped working ..

It really depends if your using software raid or hardware raid and then how the RAID is set up.

Hardware RAID relies on the motherboard and so you will break the RAID by changing the board.

If its software RAID you may be able to transfer it but I would backup everything first anyway.
