Hello,
today i bought Minecraft and tried to play it on my computer.
But the upper left half of the Minecraft window is flickering all the time.
Here's a screenshot:
I tried to change the video settings but this doesn't solve the problem.
The FPS is about 50-60...
There are also graphic issues like flickering in other applications when minecraft is running and minimized/in the background.
I have an Intel Core i5 2500K CPU with an Intel HD Graphics 3000.
Can someone help me with this problem?

Not about flickering, but deals with your gear https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=131037

For the flickering, this is an upstream bug in the intel drivers (see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39730). Their exists a fix that is not perfect but will allow you to play minecraft:
intel_reg_write 0x9404 0x00001800This must be done in root, prior to any use of the graphic card, meaning you can add it to your rc.local. This piece of software is available in the AUR, in the intel-gpu-tools-git package (the git is important).
Just another thing, I have a similar CPU/GPU (i5 2340) and minecraft is quite slow (not unplayable) and you can improve its performance with optifine.

Hello,
thank you ![]()
i tried the fix, now it's much better, but there are still some issues...
For example the window of Pidgin is flickering when i write a message and so on...
I hope there will be a fix for that too...

I hope too, because it's not completely satisfying. I have quite a lot of severe crashes with minecraft which seem to be due to the intel driver (mention of drm things in the logs). Therefore, I recommend making backups of your saves while playing...
