custom archiso : minimum packages and installation order

I plan to install arch on a small "itx-like" machine equipped with a via processor,
so I try to do a gentoo--like optimization for the whole system.

I've built (with archiso) a livecd which contains abs, and I plan to optimize all the necessary packages for the machine.
After this, I want to install my packages on the box. ( which will run on a 4GB cf card, that's why I wanted to minimize the system)

I only have two questions:

Which are the packages necessary to run the system?

Is there a specific order to install my packages or I can install them in the order I want?

Re: custom archiso : minimum packages and installation order

Look at the 'base' group; not all the packages from this group are needed, depends on your filesytem etc.
If you're going to use ABS, you need base-devel group too.

Edit: 4 GB is plenty of space for the system.
