Regardless of the browser I use, flash crashes within a few seconds of a video. During the parts of the video that I do get to watch, there are these random, neon-colored lines and/or shapes, as well as the audio being peppered with beeps (I'm not really sure how to describe this...).
I got these results in firefox 8 and chromium. There is a previous version of flash in the aur, as well as a flashplugin-beta; neither fixed my issue.
After reinstalling arch (this was entirely unrelated and not an attempt at fixing this problem) I installed chromium & flashplugin, went to youtube and was successfully able to watch a video.
That was yesterday. The problem, unfortunately, is back. Perhaps I was just lucky, because I don't think I've done anything to cause this issue.
Any help would be much appreciated!
edit: Originally I thought this was a flash problem, but I am having the same issues in flash as I am with html5 videos....

Do you happen to be using a particularly old computer? Try disabling hardware acceleration in your flash settings.

It's not an old computer, but I tried disabling hardware acceleration and that didn't work

Turns out this isn't a flash problem... I have the same issues with html5 videos (ie, the weird/random lines) though (I think) they rare less frequent
I have absolutely no idea what could be going wrong....

Probably either, or both, of two things: your video driver has a programming error in it that appears when playing video, or, if the video driver is the same as before and never done this before then the hardware is beginning to fail.
What is your video hardware and what driver are you using for it?
