[SOLVED] can't mount ext3 root partition

Hi, hopefully I'm just missing a recent change... I've just run my build script to install a new root partition. When booting it gets as far as trying to mount the root partition and complains ext3 is an unknown file system type. My build script hasn't changed and it used to work so I am wondering if I have missed something about a change to ext3 in the base package and that there is now a package needed to be explicitly install for ext3 support ?

Thanks in advance ....

Re: [SOLVED] can't mount ext3 root partition

Ok, I never changed my build script but I did change where it runs! I moved it onto a container (LXC). Part of the build invokes mkinitcpio but this failed to detect and include the relevant filesystems. I fixed it by adding ext3 to the modules section of mkinitcpio and everything is fine again.

I would like to understand how mkinitcpio decides what filesystem support to include in the initramfs. Clearly whatever detection it does is not working inside my container which is something that I would like to get to the bottom of and fix.

I will make a new post about this subject as the problem here is solved.
