[SOLVED] Update package from another maintainer

Hi, guys,

I'm fairly new to Arch, and I've never built a package before; The thing is, I'm a heavy user of WingIDE Pro and its package in the AUR repos is out-of-date.

I'd like to update the package, but without causing any harm to the original maintainer. I already sent him an e-mail about this, but I don't know if he received it because he didn't answer it yet. So, i think it's time for me to make the move.

So, what should I do in order to update the package, but without affecting the original maintainer? And what are your suggestions for communicating it the right way so to avoid disrespecting others' efforts?

This is the URL for the package:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=15672

Thank you,

Diogo

Thanks! I'll send an e-mail to the aur-general list, then.

Happy New Year!

I see you're the maintainer of WingIDE now, I think you can mark this thread as solved :-)
