kde-> nothing in media:/

anyone else had this bug? hal and dbus are running, the kde mediamanager is running. Theres just nothing in there for some reason..

I hear that it's a bug with kdebase, and I agree because although I had it before I installed dbus and hal, it worked after I installed them, then the other day I upgraded my system, which upgraded kdebase, hal and dbus and now it doesn't work.

Does anyone have any fixes? Or other ways to automount things? Thanks for any help.

Re: kde-> nothing in media:/

Well, the devices appear in media:/ here.
Unfortunately, I can't browse a mounted CD/USB stick there.

Fortunately, the CD is automatically mounted in /media/dvdwriter (I have a DVD writer), where I can browse it while being independant of KDE.

Really weird.

I tried downgrading kdebase to 3.4.1-1 but with no result. Looking over dbus and hal, I've tried downgrading those 2 but the restrictions on the versions of the dependencies make me believe that force-downgrading any of them will break everything else.

Anyway, there's no hurry, for me.
