Archboot and 32bit efi

Hi,

I'm trying to install archboot on my macbook2,1.  The image I downloaded is supposed to be a hybrid image with both 32bit and 64bit.  However, when booting with grub_efi, it insists on booting 64bit (which fails, of course).  My efi is 32bit (discovered using the wiki page on efi).  How do I boot archboot using the 32bit grub_efi?

Re: Archboot and 32bit efi

Mac EFI boot is tricky and not properly supported by grub upstream. Since you have a 32-bit EFI based Mac, it might have problems with the linux kernel itself. 64-bit EFI in Macs is better supported. Anyway you can simply use Archboot, boot into bios mode and install the grub2-efi-i386 package manually. efibootmgr or efivars module method is not valid for Macs, it is used only in recent UEFI systems.

Re: Archboot and 32bit efi

Also Archboot no longer supports 32-bit (U)EFI iso boot. Installer/Setup script still retains the support but 32-bit EFI iso boot and the grub2-efi-i386 package has been removed form thr iso, requiring the user to download the package from the repos.
