Autodesk Mudbox 2012 Install (rpm install)

Hi all, I posted this in the 'wrong' forum already and then I realised it should probably be in this forum so i apologise for that.

I have been trying to get Mudbox installed and Just havent been able to figure out what to do after extracting the rpms with rpmextract.
Could anybody point me in the right direction and if i need to install any dependencies? (I do have Maya2012 installed from aur incase that helps)

I  have tried to install rpm-org from aur but the install had errors every time so i couldnt install mudbox from the /.setup. I will post what went wrong when back on my home computer if that helps.

If anybody else would like to download mudbox for linux the link is, http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps … D=11937426 If you manage to install it please let me know. It would be great to see it in the aur, but I am not quite at the stage to be writing PKGBUILD's yet.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello, and welcome to Arch Linux.

I posted this in the 'wrong' forum already and then I realised it should probably be in this forum

Moderator comment:  In the future, the better way to handle this is to use the report link for a post you want moved and leave a short note to the moderator team.  One of us will usually move it for you in fairly short order; we like to keep things neat.

You might consider creating a thread in AUR Issues, Discussion & PKGBUILD Requests for MudBox.  If you do, don't restate your problem trying to build it, just request that someone package it (Link back here, if you wish).  I am fairly certain someone will at least consider it smile

BTW, your link is 404.  Have you seen This AUR package

Re: Autodesk Mudbox 2012 Install (rpm install)

Thanks for your reply ewaller. I will remember to use the report link in the future and leave a note. Thats sounds like a great idea, I will see if anybody will take up my request. I have fixed the link in the above post and yes I already have maya2012 installed from the AUR, but thanks for the link anyway.
