Might be something simple i'm overlooking, but with kmod installed udev is stalling trying to load firmware (and fails):
ieee80211 phy0: brcmsmac: fail to load firmware brcm/bcm43xx-0.fw
ieee80211 phy0: brcmsmac: Failed to find firmware usually in /lib/firmware/brcm
The file is there. After booting is finished i can issue a modprobe normally and the firmware is loaded correctly.
Any pointers?

Oh darn, you might be right, udev itself got upgraded too, i hadn't noticed. I'm going to look into that, thanks.

I have the same problem but udev-177 just won't load the firmware. Back to udev-175 from [core] It works nicely
