Destroyed pacman with update to 4.0

Hey everybody,

I was dumb enough to install pacman 4.0 with --force because i had a conflicting aur package installed. Apparently my mirror wasn't fully synched.

Now I can't start pacman because apparently I don't have libarchive.so.12 .

I could get libarchive.so.12 from somewhere an just copy it where it belongs, but I don't know wether that's the only problem.

Any ideas?

Take a look at https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=133688

libarchive.so.12 is in libarchive from [core]
Download the package and extract it to /usr/lib/libarchive.so.12

Re: Destroyed pacman with update to 4.0

Not for the same reasons (upgraded libarchive but not pacman), but I had a similar issue. This allowed fixing it :

Mr.Elendig's post was a general way of getting your system back to a consistent state.
The wiki is fine too of course :-)
