Black screen after nvidia driver install
Okay, so I got a nvidia gtx580. I install all the packages for xorg and add dbus too me rc.conf. I download nvidia and nvidia utils. Then I run the nvidia config thing. I reboot and get a kind of black screen and cannot do anything. The monitor does not go to sleep so I know something is happening. I blinding tried to log in and shutdown, but that was a no go. Anyone have any suggestions?

Can you log in to the fallback image? It seems like the drivers are not working with the card at all.

I tried that too, but the same thing happened. I think I might wipe and try the beta drivers as a last resort. I wonder if any one here is using a gtx580?
