pyxis player for Sirius internet radio [Solved]

Hi everyone,
I've been trying to get pyxis to work. I can login to Sirius Canada, view the list of station, type in a stream name.
When the stream starts to play, I get the following error.

I don't think it's related directly to pyxis but maybe something wrong with my install itself (fyi running openbox)

I think the last line is the key. Can anyone shed some light on this?

wow THANKS that was a fast reply... but yes, dbus was running, I just restarted it to be sure. same issue.

I don't use pyxis, so take this with a grain of salt, but the error looks a lot like this. Perhaps a similar solution would work (ie, start notification-daemon before pyxis, or switch daemons).

your grain of salt worked absolutely perfectly. I switched to xfce4-notify and it worked great. Time to mark this as solved.
What's the difference really between the notification daemons?

That one's beyond me. I don't use either one. They do serve the same function, but notification-daemon is designed for gnome DEs while xfce4-notify is for xfce.

thanks again.. I just plugged in all my favorite stations in an openbox menu. works extremely well! When i'm done listening, I just need to close the window and pick a new station.
