[solved] cannot delete files on usb-drive

hey folks,

i have the following problem: when i delete files from my usb-drive, they are moved to .Trash-1000/files/[...]. but my trash bin is still empty. also i cannot delete the .Trash-1000 directory on the usb-drive. hmm

i am using arch 64 with xfce4.

hope anyone can help with it?

Navigate there in a shell and use rm. I have found that to be an annoyance as well.

Not sure. Are you sure it is just Thunar though? I use Thunar too and am very interested in a solution to this. If I remember correctly this is a "feature" of most file managers.

when i remember right, it was possible to delete the .Trash-1000 directory once before. but i am not sure, if this was in my arch installation or in parted magic (which i use often at work).

Shift+Delete works.

Don't shift+delete your .Trash folder. It caused an I/O gvfs error for me. I am going to try reformatting and symlinking my .Trash to ~/.local/share/Trash/
I am wondering what kind of cross compatibility problems it may create though.
