No idea where you get that patch, but this is not from our repos. The md5sum of the patch is different. So there is your problem.

Downloading from the web interface screws up whitespace. Don't know if it's the web interface or the browser screwing things up, but I discovered this issue recently with some other patch for some other package.

Yeah I had the same problem. What I did was getting it from here instead: http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/g … 7977a3cccc
Not really the best, but at least you get the file as you should.
