For the early builders KDE 4.8

So I went ahead and modified the KDE 4.7.4 PKGBUILDs to work with KDE 4.8, and I installed the base system. It's working fine, but I don't know if I did something wrong, or there is a bug. When you try to change the icon size for the desktop in folder view it doesn't resize the icons.

If the your desktop is configured as: Desktop, and you are using a Folder View widget to view the icons, it changes fine. It's only when the option is set as Folder View. I only can't even change the folder to be displayed while Folder View is the default view mode.

I didn't want to open a bug report since I did modify the builds by myself so I don't know if I did something wrong.

Another issue I've seen is when I click the KDE peanut or w/e it is at the bottom right, when the options raise up, another identical line is drawn at the top and later it removes itself.

Thoughts?

EDIT: I will recompile kdebase-workspace.

dude, if you search long enough, you will find hundreds of such glitches in KDE. Those glitches are the reason KDE has the reputation to be very buggy.
I would not go after them to judge if I compiled correctly.

Re: For the early builders KDE 4.8

I'm pretty sure it's a problem on my end though since I couldn't get kdebase-workspace to compile, so currently my system is a hybrid of 4.8 libs etc, but a 4.7.4 workspace. So far I'm writing some fixes to connect the KActivities file that was added/separated from kdelibs.

You know there's a [kde-unstable] repo, do you?

Yes I do, but I wanted to do it myself for a learning experience. I'm just compiling the core of kde on my quad core, none of the fancy stuff.

I couldnt really follow from the first post, sorry.
if you have problems compiling, you should have posted those problems in the first place, so people can help.

Re: For the early builders KDE 4.8

Everything compiled fine, and installed fine. Only kdebase-workspace failed to compile. The system ended up running anyways with the new libraries and core applications, but looks like leaving out the workspace is coming back to haunt me. It's ok though, once I finish editing the kdebase-workspace PKGBUILD to include the KActivities_DIR, it should be fine.

Re: For the early builders KDE 4.8

I was trying to do it a little faster by not having to make a separate PKGBUILD for kactivities, but just use a local temp directory and target it in the kdebase-workspace PKGBUILD. It kept failing. So I took a look at the kde-unstable abs tree, it was a easier and good idea to make a separate PKGBUILD for kactivities. Anyways, I made a new PKGBUILD (Just for learning purposes) for the kactivities, and after making it and installing it, now the workspace compiles. Hopefully it will be good now.

EDIT: Sorry for double posting, didn't mean to do that but it looks like I can't delete this post so I can edit my previous one.
