[thinkpad X200t] hard drive squeaks

Hello,

Under linux the hard drive of my X200t is constantly squeaking whilst this noise does not come up when using Windows XP.

What can be the reason for that?

At the moment I'm not at my laptop so I cannot provide you with more information.

All I can say is that it's a Seagate 250GB 5400rpm drive.

Have you tried setting up hdparm? This can as well be done via laptop-mode-tools.
