[SOLVED]Internet speed?

Hi all. Since kernel 3.2.x.x update I have noticed that my internet speed has decreased. I believed that is my ISP fault, but when I checked my old windows machine it gives me full internet speed. That means I get only ~7-8mbps in arch and more than 30mbps in Windows, where can be the problem? It is really annoying if I want to download something big I need to use windows machine to get full speed.

Based on the information you have provided, I can only assume you are using rfc 1149 as your link layer.

Well, it was meant as a humorous way to say you did not provide enough information to even start to answer your question. Did you happen to read the RFC I linked? It is a classic April fools joke about a fictitious Ethernet transport method.

So, forget the not so subtle humor, allow me to suggest that you provide, as a minimum, basic things like:
Are you wireless or wired ?
What is your Ethernet chipset?
Are you using a router?
Do you own that router?
Do you use a cable modem?
Do you use DSL?
Are you using a static address or a dynamic address?

Oh, I'm so dumb, maybe because I'm almost sleeping. Yes, I am using wireless, with Virgin Media SuperHub (VMDG480). I noticed that before 3.2.x.x kernel update everything worked fine. And also I noticed that during clean installation of arch x64 when it downloads packages it downloads it with full speed, but after installation it doesn't download packages at full speed from the same mirrors.

Okay, So wireless using a VMDG480. It appears that is a Netgear product that provides your access point. We still know little about your chipset.

Can you post the output of lspci -nn (That is two n's, not m)

That uses the ath9k driver. It seems to be a popular problem with the 3.2 kernel. The solutions I've seen seem to indicate a downgrade to the 3.1 kernel for a short term solution.

I have no way to check this myself with my hardware. Sorry about that.
